How it works

1

50 minutes, one to one, live on Zoom from Bali, booked around your time zone. We look at your week as it actually is — your energy, your sleep, what you have tried before and what fell apart — and build from there.

2

5 short lessons, about 20 minutes in total. Why yoga is not a calorie burner and what it does instead. Stress, sleep and appetite. How to build strength safely. The Ayurvedic idea of routine. What to do when motivation runs out.

3

8 practice videos, 10 to 30 minutes each, laid out as a simple four-week path. Strength-building flows, gentler practices for depleted days, and a short routine you can keep.

Course content

1

Part 1: Your private session with Ocha

50 minutes, one to one, live on Zoom from Bali, booked around your time zone. We look at your week as it actually is — your energy, your sleep, what you have tried before and what fell apart — and build from there.

2

Part 2: The theory

5 short lessons, about 20 minutes in total. Why yoga is not a calorie burner and what it does instead. Stress, sleep and appetite. How to build strength safely. The Ayurvedic idea of routine. What to do when motivation runs out.

3

Part 3: The practice, week by week

8 practice videos, 10 to 30 minutes each, laid out as a simple four-week path. Strength-building flows, gentler practices for depleted days, and a short routine you can keep.

4

Week 1: Start where you are

No heroics. Finding out what your body can do today, and building the habit before the intensity.

5

Week 2: Build something

Strength work you can feel — legs, hips, core — at a pace that does not wreck you for two days.

6

Week 3: Stress and sleep

The part most weight-loss plans skip. Calmer practices for the wired-and-tired evenings.

7

Week 4: Make it a routine

Putting it together into something short enough that you will still do it in a busy week.

Course description

Let's start honestly: yoga does not burn many calories.

An hour of gentle practice burns roughly what a brisk walk does. If you came here for a calorie furnace, there are faster ways, and I would rather tell you now than take your money.

So why does yoga keep turning up in people's stories about changing their body?

What changes

Because weight is rarely decided in the hour you exercise. It is decided in the other twenty-three — how you sleep, how you carry stress, whether you end up eating standing at the counter at 10pm because the day got away from you.

This course works on that. Strength-building practice, so you are building something rather than only burning it off. Slower practices for the days you are wired and exhausted, because stress and bad sleep make every other decision harder. And the quiet part nobody sells: noticing hunger before it turns urgent, and noticing when you have had enough.

It borrows from how Ayurveda thinks about this — routine, digestion, and eating in a way that suits you — rather than a rule you will abandon in March.

Hi, I'm Ocha

I'm a Balinese yoga teacher, born and raised in a village in Bali. I've been teaching since 2019 — here on the island, across the Indonesian archipelago, and in Europe. Somewhere past 5,000 people have practised with me by now.

I teach the way I'd want to be taught: slowly, without pressure, and without pretending that a yoga pose fixes everything.

Why I chose to work on this one

Because I have watched people punish themselves on a mat. They arrive angry at their body and try to sweat it into submission. It works for about three weeks.

The ones who actually change are the ones who stop fighting. They get stronger. They sleep. They eat like someone who quite likes themselves. It is slower. It also lasts.

Can I promise you will lose weight?

No. And nobody honest can.

Weight is food, sleep, stress, hormones, medication, genetics and life all at once. Yoga touches some of that and not the rest. If someone guarantees you a number, they are selling something.

One serious note: if you have an eating disorder, or a history of one, please be careful with any course framed around weight — including this one. Speak to someone who specialises in that first.

What I can offer is a practice you will actually keep, strength you can feel, and a calmer relationship with your body than the one you probably arrived with.

This is the part no app and no video can give you: 50 minutes, one to one, live with me on Zoom from Bali, at a time that works in your time zone.

We talk about where you actually are — not where a course assumes you are — and then we practise together, so you can feel it rather than read about it.

You leave with a practice shaped around your life, and you can ask the things you would never ask in a group class.

This is for you if you recognise yourself here:

  • I have started over more times than I can count
  • I am tired, and every plan assumes I am not
  • I want to get stronger, not just smaller
  • I am done with punishing workouts I quit after a month
  • I want to understand why, not just be told what to do

This is probably not for you if:

  • You want a guaranteed number on the scale
  • You want the fastest possible fat loss — this is not that
  • You have an eating disorder, or a history of one. Please speak to a specialist first; a weight-framed course is not the right place to start.

20 places this round. That is not a countdown clock and it is not a marketing trick.

Every place includes a private hour with me, live on Zoom. There are only so many of those in a week, and I would rather do them properly than squeeze people in.

When these are gone the next round opens at a higher price. The private session is the expensive part, and I have kept it deliberately low while the course is new.

Very little. A quiet corner, and:

  • A yoga mat, or a rug that does not slide
  • A block, or a firm cushion
  • Optional: a strap, or a dressing-gown belt

No equipment beyond that. Your own body weight is plenty.

"I am not flexible at all."
Neither are most people who start. Flexibility is not the point here — strength and consistency are.

"How much weight will I lose?"
I have no idea, and I would not trust anyone who claimed to. What I can say is that people who keep practising tend to keep the changes.

"Is this enough on its own?"
Honestly, for most people it is one piece. Walking, sleeping and what you eat matter at least as much. We talk about all of it in your session.

"What if I miss a week?"
Nothing breaks. The plan is a suggestion, not a test, and you have three months of access.
